Limits on WIMP cross-sections from the NAIAD experiment at the Boulby Underground Laboratory UK Dark Matter Collaboration

چکیده
The NAIAD experiment (NaI Advanced Detector) for WIMP dark matter searches at the Boulby Underground Laboratory (North Yorkshire, UK) ran from 2000 until 2003. A total of 44.9 kg × years of data collected with 2 encapsulated and 4 unencapsulated NaI(Tl) crystals with high light yield were included in the analysis. We present final results of this analysis carried out using pulse shape discrimination. No signal associated with nuclear recoils from WIMP interactions was observed in any run with any crystal. This allowed us to set upper limits on the WIMP–nucleon spin-independent and WIMP–proton E-mail addresses: [email protected] (V.A. Kudryavtsev), [email protected] (N.J.C. Dark Matter Experiments at Boulby Mine
The Boulby Dark Matter Collaboration (BDMC) is running several experiments for particle (WIMP) dark matter search in the Underground Boulby Laboratory. These include a liquid xenon detector (ZEPLIN I) and a low pressure gas TPC with directional sensitivity (DRIFT I). Next stage double-phase xenon detectors ZEPLIN II and ZEPLIN III, and a new TPC DRIFT II will be installed at Boulby in a few mon...
متن کاملDark Matter Search at Boulby Mine
The Boulby Dark Matter Collaboration (BDMC) is running a WIMP Dark Matter research programme in the underground laboratory of Boulby Mine. The two axes of the programme are based on (1) liquid Xenon (LXe) as the WIMP target and (2) directional detection in low pressure gas detectors. ZEPLIN-1 is a 3.1kg of LXe scintillation detector with a background discrimination based on Pulse Shape Analysis...
متن کاملCryogenic Dark Matter Search: limits and projections
The results from the second run of the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search experiment in the Soudan Underground Laboratory yields new exclusion limits on the coherent WIMPnucleon scalar cross-sections for WIMP masses above 15 GeV/c. Two towers, each consisting of six detectors, were operated in the mine for 74.5 live days, doubling the previous Ge exposure to 34 kg-d after cuts for recoil energies of ...
متن کاملLimits on the Wimp-nucleon Cross-section from the Cryogenic Dark Matter Search
The Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS) employs Ge and Si detectors to search for WIMPs via their elastic-scattering interactions with nuclei while discriminating against interactions of background particles. CDMS I data, from the Stanford Underground Facility shallow site, give limits on the spin-independent WIMPnucleon elastic-scattering cross-section that exclude unexplored parameter space a...
متن کاملFirst results from dark matter search experiment with LiF bolometer at Kamioka Underground Laboratory
The Tokyo group has performed the first underground dark matter search experiment from 2001 through 2002 at Kamioka Observatory(2700m.w.e). The detector is eight LiF bolometers with a total mass of 168g and aims for the direct detection of WIMPs via spin-dependent interaction. With an exposure of 4.1 kg·days, we derived the limits in the ap−an (WIMP-nucleon couplings) plane and excluded a large...
